How do I fix windows 7 authentication

Trying to Connect to a wireless network , but instead of network key a user and password box pops up?

But this does fix the issue when the login and password box pop up instead of the standard security key box.


Open Network and Sharing Center - you can hover over connecton on bottom right and right click and choose Open Network and Sharing Center

Choose - Manage wireless networks - (to left of the pane)

Choose - Add

Type in the following in the boxes:

Network name

security type

security key

Press NEXT and it should login.

So far it's worked for me 95% of the times under windows 7 only so far. (Vista doesn't count in my world, but it also did it more often) and if it didn't it was time to upgrade routers.

Hey any other fixes is always appreciated.
